Antramelk Apparel is a multi-brand retailer of leather goods, jewelry, cashmere knitwear and dresses. We buy directly from five independent houses, take delivery into our own warehouse in Los Angeles, and sell directly to customers across the United States.

What we do

The business is straightforward. Our buying office places firm, paid orders with each house two seasons ahead. Goods arrive at our Los Angeles facility, where they are received, inspected, ticketed and put away. When you order from this site, someone picks it off a shelf that exists. Nothing here is drop-shipped, consigned, or listed against a purchase order we have not yet received.

That decision costs us range. Most multi-brand retailers of our size carry fifty or sixty labels, three units deep per size, and cover the gaps by drop-shipping from the vendor. We carry five, and we hold them properly — which is why the piece you want is usually in the building rather than six weeks out.

How we choose a house

We review new labels twice a year, ahead of the spring and autumn buying calendars. The criteria have not changed since we opened: finished goods only, consistent production from season to season, a size run that can actually be repeated, and a factory relationship the house can describe in specifics rather than adjectives. We ask where the cloth is woven and who cuts it, and we expect an answer.

The warehouse

Everything ships from our Los Angeles warehouse. Orders placed before 1:00 PM Pacific leave the same business day. We use recycled and recyclable packaging throughout, with no plastic polybags on any garment we control — a change we made in 2022 that cost more than we expected and that we have not regretted.
